"Hey," turning around at hearing Sara's voice, "you all right?"

"Yeah," giving her a smile even though I was lying.

"Since we skipped lunch, you want to get something to eat? Walk it off?" she's sweet for asking, but I need some air.

"Gimme a half hour, I need to clear my head," at her nod I head out to my Tahoe. Once I cleared the hustle and bustle of Vegas, I headed for 'our' spot.

I can't believe that woman drowned her little girl because she thought she could start over with her boyfriend. Lindsay is always my first thought when I'm dealing with my partners. Some have been put off by her, so they haven't stuck around long. And then, there is Sara.

Sara Sidle intrigued me from the first time I met her. Of course, I pulled the territorial bitch routine that she just ignored which just pissed me off more, and then one day, Nancy had to drop Linds off at the lab because she got called in early, but I was in the field when she called and told me that she left her with Sara. To say I was worried would be an understatement, but when I got back to the lab, I found them on the game system playing like they were best friends.

That was when my feelings for Sara changed. Granted having breakfast with her and Lindsay helped that morning too because Linds had Sara blushing re-telling their playing details. Cut to three months later, Sara and I are dating with the guys knowing and happy for us, and since I wasn't her superior, we could still work on the same shift together. Mom and Nancy love her too, and we have had a few 'sleepovers' as Lindsay calls them, and after the first one, I found out my girl was an excellent cook, so she is a keeper. Okay head is clear, time to have dinner with my girls.

I smile when I pull into my driveway because Sara's Tahoe is in it. I grabbed my purse, and before I opened the door, I heard both Sara and Lindsay giggling hysterically. I walked in to find them embattled in a tickle fight. Lindsay was on top of Sara while Sara was tickling Lindsay from the floor, and they were so into it that they missed me coming in, "Hey kiddies, what's for dinner?" as both sets of eyes turned towards me.

"MOMMY!" Linds yelled running and jumping into my arms.

"Pizzas should be here shortly, baby," Sara said coming over and giving me a sweet kiss, "So, go shower and me and Linds will set the table," as I passed Lindsay to her before heading upstairs. Yep, this is all that matters.
