A.N.: I'm a little blocked with My Angel, so this came out (Sara's POV)
---------------------------------------------------------------
I can't believe she kissed someone else. I thought the three years
together meant something. My past trust issues are coming up because I'm
wondering if this is only time. I've moved into the spare room only
because I don't want to abandon Lindsay. "If Sara leaves, I will never
forgive you," Lindsay yelled slamming her door.
I called Grissom telling him that I don't feel well, so I can't come
into work. I figure when Catherine leaves she and I will talk. Catherine
has left me alone probably figuring I just need to cool off. I must have
fallen asleep because I woke up to Lindsay nudging me awake. I still
can't believe how beautiful this sixteen year old has become.
"Hey Linds, what's up?" I asked. "You want to get something to eat?"
she asked. "Yeah, I could use some air," I said kissing her cheek. We
ended up at our favorite Italian restaurant. "She's sorry you know,"
Lindsay said. "I know Linds, but that's not the point," I said. "She was
an ex-girlfriend that Mom hasn't seen since college," she explained.
"I have old girlfriends from college too, but I don't kiss them like
that," I said trying not to get mad. "She knows she made a mistake and
just wants to fix it. I remember you telling me about Karen. After you
slept together, she dumped you for someone else, but that's not Mom. She
just wants to make it up to you," Lindsay said.
We changed the subject to school for the rest of the meal. I realize
I want to fix this because I don't want to sleep alone tomorrow.
"Lindsay, you want to go for a ride?" I asked smiling. "If we're going
where I think we're going, you bet," she said giving me a hug. I have no
idea what I'm going to say when I see her.
Lindsay must have sensed my nervousness because she took my hand as
we went in. "Sara, what are you doing here? You were never sick. Oh, I
get it, what did she do?" Gil asked. "Yeah, sorry about that, but I
didn't feel like working with her tonight. Is she here?" I explained.
"No, her and Greg are on a scene," he said as Lindsay and I went to wait
in Catherine's office.
We sat down on the couch, and I had Lindsay put her head on my lap in
case she wanted to sleep. I covered her up with the blanket Catherine
keeps in here. When I was about to fall asleep, I heard Gil through the
door and then Catherine waked in.
"Even after three years, I love seeing you two like this. I can't
believe I put that at risk, and I will do anything to make this right,"
Catherine said starting to cry. I laid Lindsay down as I got up. "Shut
up and come here," I said stretching out my hand. I pulled her into me
and kissed her. "I'm sorry," she said as I heard Lindsay giggle.
