I usually don't meet the guys for drinks after shift since most of the time I'm taking care of Lindsay, but since it's the last weekend before school starts, Mom and Sam took Linds camping. Even though Lindsay is gone, I wasn't planning on going until Greg said Sara was going to be there.

When I first heard about her, the plan was to hate her, but once I met her, I knew that wasn't going to be possible, so I did the next best thing. I ended up making slight digs at her any chance I got just to avoid the feelings I had for her. It wasn't until Nick's kidnapping that I decided to at least be a friend to her.

I was pulling into the bar parking lot when I saw Sara walking with a purpose carrying a baseball bat. I quickly found a parking spot and ran in the direction I saw Sara heading. By the time I found her, the truck she was trashing was already missing the driver's side mirror, and she had smashed one of the headlights. I caught her yelling 'cheating fucking bitch' right before she bashed in the windshield. I knew I had to do something before she got arrested.

"Sara!" I yelled before running up to her before she caused any more damage.

She just shot me a very pissed off look before smashing the other headlight. Well since yelling didn't work, I decided to do something immensely stupid. I put myself between the truck and Sara putting my hand over the one holding the bat.

"Sara, I don't know what is going on, but how about you and I go back to my place and talk about it," I said as Sara let go of the bat and collapsed in my arms crying. Well shit, all I wanted her to do was stop trashing the the truck. I knew I needed help, so I texted Warrick to meet me in the parking lot, alone.

When I saw him come out, I flagged him over to where I was. He looked at the truck and then at me. I nodded as I had him carry Sara to my car. I put the bat in my truck as I explained to him what I heard. He gave me a hug telling me he would take care of it.

I drove home with one hand on Sara, so she didn't think I left her. When I pulled into my driveway, I helped her into the house and took her straight to my bedroom. I figure we can talk about the truck thrashing when we get up.

I gave her a pair of shorts and one of my longer shirts to sleep in while I went into the bathroom to change. By the time I got back, Sara was already under the covers. I left the bedroom door open in case Sara got up before I did and needed to use the bathroom.

I shut off the overhead light before making my way into the room. I ended up laying down facing Sara, so she knew where she was when she woke up since I don't know how much of this morning is going to register after sleeping. I was almost asleep when Sara curled into me, so I wrapped my arms around her before falling asleep.

I ended up waking a little after two, but Sara was still asleep. We had changed positions sometime, and now Sara's head is on my shoulder while she has an arm and a leg laying across me. I was suddenly glad this wasn't one of those days that I woke up having to go to the bathroom.

I was running my fingers through her hair when her eyes opened, and instead of freaking out, she just smiled and rubbed her face into my shoulder. As much as I hate to ruin this mood, I need to know why I'm covering up a crime.

"Sara, I don't know how much you remember about this morning, but can you tell me who the cheating bitch is, and why I stopped you from completely demolishing a truck?" I asked looking down into Sara's beautiful brown eyes as she let out a chuckle. I guess she remembers.

"When I was getting the drinks for me and the guys, I saw my girlfriend of three months, Sam, making out with some blonde. I dropped the drinks off before telling the guys I needed to use the restroom, and well, you know the rest," Sara explained as I wiped a tear off her cheek.

"Well shit, if I had known that, those could have been our three months. I never thought that we played for the same team, but since I know now, would you like to go to dinner with me sometime?" I asked smiling as Sara said a quick yes before kissing me and straddling my hips. We never left the bedroom until it was dinner time.
