Ever since Sara came back, we have been playing a game of flirt tag that
sometimes has gotten pretty heated, but I think both of our pasts have us each
scared to take things further. Work has been ever more fun too because we have
become the female version of Warrick and Nick. We make friendly wagers like
they do, and it drives Grissom off the wall. That is probably why he pairs us
off, so we can't, and tonight is one of those nights. Sara is upstairs while I
am downstairs. We're hoping to get the evidence, log it in, and go to breakfast
with Lindsay before she goes off to school.
I heard a thump before hearing Sara's favorite four letter word. I stood up and
scaled the steps two at a time before calling out Sara's name, so I knew which
room she was in. When I found her, she was just getting up, and she was holding
her left arm against her body, "Sara, are you okay?"
"Yeah, I just hit my funny bone, that's all. I'll bag the last of this and
be right down," she said as I nodded before heading back downstairs to
finish up my stuff.
Fifteen minutes later, I had all my stuff packed up, but Sara still hadn't made
it down, so I ran back upstairs to find her holding her arm this time,
"Okay, you're going to the hospital."
"I'd rather have my arm chopped off than go there," she stated with a
pained expression on her face.
"Tough Sara, you're going," as I pulled out my phone to have Grissom
get Greg to pick up our evidence.
For once I was glad that Sara and I took separate cars, so when we reached her
Denali, I held out my hand, "Keys," as I got a look of deviance in
return, "Stop being childish and just give them to me," returning
with my own 'won't take no for an answer' look.
I wasn't all that surprised that our trip to the hospital was quiet, as was the
wait in the waiting room even though I filled out her paperwork, but she did
grab my hand to come with her when a doctor finally saw her. She even held my
hand as we waited for the x-rays, and this time, I wasn't about to ruin it by
talking to her.
About a half an hour later, we found out that Sara fractured her elbow and
would be in a cast for six weeks. He also mentioned that it might be easier if
she had someone to take care of her, but it wasn't necessary. He gave me the prescription
for her pain meds that I went to fill while he gave her final instructions. By
the time I came back, she was almost dead on her feet, so I help her up and
drove us over to my place.
Breakfast was entertaining. I got Sara fed, and Lindsay off to school before
taking Sara down the hall to the guest room. I knew she might need assistance,
but she was stubborn enough not to ask, and I had just turn around when,
"Catherine, I....uhm....need a hand with my....uh....zipper," Sara
said nervously as I turned around and helped her get ready for bed.

Six weekss later, we had just gotten back from the doctor's before I went into
the kitchen to get lunch started. Sara and I had started 'dating' since her
accident, and i say it like that because we have had quite a few meals alone
together followed by some heated making out. Sara may have only had use of one
arm, but her hand 'went' places.
While I was tossing the salad, Sara wrapped her arms around my waist and leaned
her mouth down to my ear, "After we eat, I want to play strip poker and
actually see this body that I have been touching for so long."
I spun around in her arms and kissed her tenderly, "You're on, but house
rules. Winner picks the articles of clothing,"
"Deal."
