AN: As I was thinking about the 'Perfect' trilogy. It dawned on me that the last
part be more of a epilogue, rather than a mini series. so here it goes.
---------------------------
I can't believe my luck. Nine years ago, I come to Vegas as a favor just to
investigate any wrongdoing by CSI Warrick Brown. The plan was to give Grissom my
report and head back to Frisco, but with team having an opening Gil asked me to
stay. Since there was nothing waiting for me, I decided to accept.
During my investigation, I ran into Catherine Willows. She came across a bit
of a bitch, but the woman was drop dead gorgeous. I mean she is a twelve, but I
knew she was out of my league. The first being that she was married, and the
other being she has a daughter. Boy was I wrong.
Three years ago after we put away all our petty arguments, we found out that
we shared the same feelings for one another. We dated for a year before getting
engaged and another six months before getting married. We discussed the
possibilty of kids a couple months after the wedding.
After finding the perfect donor, we had the procedure and defied the odds by
conceiving on the first try. Plus if that wasn't enough, we found out later we
were having twins. At the start, Catherine was thrilled, but I was a little
apprehensive. Catherine of course 'convinced' me that everything was going to be
fine.
So here I am on my way home to my three girls. It was nice working nights
again, but then again the whole lab was working around the clock. Another crazy
was terrorizing the city, and the sheriff wanted him caught by any means
necessary. Of course this only being my second week back, I don't get to work
doubles.
I get a little nervous when I see that the living room lights are on
considering it is four in the morning. I quickly put the car in park and run up
the steps. I unlock the door and find Lindsay looking at me with a look I have
only seen on Catherine, but apparently it is a family trait.
Lindsay's is a funny story. The first time I met her she was a precocious
little seven year old, and now I see the beautiful sixteen year old she has
become. She looks exactly like her mother, but according to Catherine, she has
my attitude.
"Mama, you owe me. Those two are evil. Everytime I tried to fall asleep, they
would wake up. I have school tomorrow, but if I don't get any sleep, I won't be
able to focus," Lindsay said looking for relief.
"Sweetie, Veronica and Elizabeth are not evil and don't worry about school, I
call you in sick. Come on, you and I will lay down like we did when you were
little," I said helping her up the stairs.
I tucked her in Catherine and I's bed before heading to take a shower. I
checked on the girls before climbing into bed myself. Lindsay must have sensed
me because she snuggled up against me as I wrapped my arm around her for old
times sake.
When I woke up, I found myself the meat in a Willows sandwich. I didn't get
to revel in it much as I heard the girls wake up. Lindsay groaned, but I kissed
her cheek and told her that I would take care of it.
I change them and headed for the living room to feed them. I called Lindsay
off first before I took care of the girls. When I came back into the room with
the bottles, I found Lindsay playing peekaboo. I couldn't help but laugh.
"What's so funny?" Lindsay asked with another look she inherited from her
mom.
"Well as of last night, you thought your sisters were the spawn of Satan," I
said handing her a bottle.
"I was tired, and you know I didn't mean it, I love them" she said giving me
a hug.
"I know you do Linds. I get cranky too when I'm tired," I said as we headed
for the couch.
Lindsay and I were burping the girls when I noticed Catherine was watching
us. She had the biggest smile on her face, and I know how she feels. Considering
how it started, my life now is damn near perfect.
